Twenty two years ago a group of Ft. Smith, Arkansas musicians met to play music and enjoy life. Many of them had been tested professional road musicians in the 60's and 70's and just wanted to play music for fun. It would be their musical semi-retirement. Today that group of musicians has evolved into the mid-south's favorite party band and most unique musical experience.
Led by founding members Steve"Bubba"Carter, bass and host, Tommy Cunningham, lead guitar and Ricky Young, vocals. The Cabbageheads as their friends and fans call them now are one of Arkansas' most well known ambassadors. Carter , Cunningham and Young were soon joined by Mike Lenzini, vocals, trombone, flute(1986), Ronnie Thomas, vocals, keyboards(1988) Steve Clark, vocals, sax, trombone(1990), Larry Matthews, vocals, drums, (1992), Harley Vinsant, vocals, bass(1996) and John Henley, trumpet(2000)
Today the Cabbageheads perform nearly 100 times per year and are featured at many large civic and corporate events in the mid-south. They are certified by the Arkansas Arts on Tour Commission and are often featured in city and college concert venues.
